FAQs

1. Where is your granola made? Our granola is baked by us in small batches at the commercial kitchen at the Port of Skagit in Skagit County.

2. How do I store my granola? Always store The Give Thanks Granola in an airtight container like a ziploc or a jar to keep it the freshest. The granola stores well at room temperature for up to 4 weeks, in a refrigerator up to 8 weeks, and in the freezer for up to 6 months. After removing from the freezer, store at room temperature up to 4 weeks or in the fridge up to 8 weeks.

3. Where do you source your ingredients? Most of our ingredients are grown in the USA, and more specifically, in Washington, Oregon, or California, except for the ones that aren't grown in the USA, like coconut products. ALL ingredients are purchased through Azure Standard, a privately owned organic farm and distributor located in Oregon that makes free deliveries at community stops nationwide through their own trucking network. As a family, we have sourced most of our organic staples through Azure for over 20 years. Check them out! www.azurestandard.com. EVERY ingredient is organic except the cherries, which are non-GMO and natural. Licensing for a 100% organic label is expensive and tedious, so for now, we are not licensing ourselves that way, but we are committed to eating local, organic food as much as possible because of its importance on human and planet health.

4. Is eating organic important? Short answer: YES! Organic means grown the way God created it: A plant grown from a natural, reproducing seed (vs.a sterile GMO plant) in healthy, naturally fertilized soil (without chemicals) that includes essential trace minerals for your health, and no pesticides (which would be more chemicals).

5. Why organic, more specifically? Just as one example, non-organic oats (and wheat) are usually desiccated crops. That means that the entire crop is sprayed with glyphosate (a well-known weed killer) before harvest to "dry out" the crop uniformly to facilitate harvest. Grain sensitivities and intestinal issues have been linked to this chemical residue. More chemicals are bad for the body and bad for the soil.

6. Do you offer free shipping? Unfortunately we cannot offer free shipping at this time because the cost is so variable, but the good news is that shipping is discounted by Shopify to make it more affordable.

7. 10% of the proceeds will be donated to which charities? It's important to us to give back. 10% of all proceeds will be donated to charities that support our values. Currently we donate locally to Skagit Meals on Wheels, plus we sponsor visits to help older adults in our community through www.ourlinkedlives.com.

8. What are the The Give Thanks Granola ingredients?
